Waking up feelings without rational explanations, provoking abstract kingdoms, inviting the spectator into a sensual journey, finding hidden people, and inciting sensations that cross the unconscious; these are the essential elements pursued by the painter.
Her first creative step can be dictated by a spot that is transformed into a symbol or passage to the imaginative world.
Her paintings, done with oil on wood, linen or cotton, reflect voluptuous forms of movement. Themes like eroticism, the cosmos, the Earth and its color changes, joy, mystery and meditation lie in her artistic works.
To Raquel Alvarez, painting means a type of shelter, an internal search and transformation for which, prior to the artistic creation, an introspective process is necessary. Her brush, nourished by the lights and shadows of the internal spring, capture that cascade of thought on canvas even though she asserts: the last word belongs to the spectator, because without his interpretation the circle remains incomplete.
